When Katz extended a similar invitation to Hansen, expressing a desire for students to hear differing points of view, Hansen responded with a terse, two-word email reply; “not interested.”
According to Marlo Lewis, CEI senior fellow, this means
“One has to wonder if the staff of the publicly funded Goddard Institute [which Hansen heads] really is free to engage in open-minded science, and whether Hansen is stacking the deck with the staff that he supervises.”
Yeah, I think I get it: the tone of this whole global warming ‘dispute’ could’ve been very different if Hansen had accepted Katz’s invitation to appear in town hall meetings.
